I Need Technics Turntables Buying Advice

Hello, I am desperate to buy some Technics 1200's. In fact I may, due to lack of money, buy just one. I hope to use this for sampling and simply listening to records. Looking around on forums and websites for advice, I've found very little that's useful to me. Everyone on this forum is here because of one reason, Insight. I think it's fair to assume we all respect his production and attitude to music creation. As we are all like minded, I have a lot more trust in your advice.

I'm trying to decide which model to buy. It seems to me like the changes introduced in the MK5 (I don't want to know about any of this M5G voodoo by the way) are fairly unnecessary, or at least not essential. I would like to know your opinions on the difference, baring in mind my reasons for buying the decks. Also, would you consider Ebay a bad place to purchase something like this? I know I don't get to really inspect the deck before purchase (hey that sounds like a rapper I know) but to problem is I don't really know what to look for in the first place. Assuming the seller is truthful, and the price is good (usually around £200 - £250 in the UK) would you go ahead with the deal?

I know this is a bit unfocused, but any Technics buying advice would be really appreciated, even unrelated to my questions

"Love of the music should be the driving force of any producer,
performer or DJ. Everything else stems from that core, that love.
With that love, sampling can become a tribute; An expansion on
ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage. Using the same
understanding openly and respectfully can turn DJing into a
spiritual participation. It can turn a few hours of selection into
essential history; Necessary listening through movement."
